Company

SPEXA SA is the most recent business initiative of George Nikoulis, following a successfully course in the design and construction field.

Evolved as a pairing of an architectural and technical company with specialization in hotels (AR Group SA - ARTECO), a construction company with expertise in metal and inox structures (METALCON SA) and an initially Athens-based tourism company (SPEXA SA).

In the last years, we have designed and constructed tourism and leisure facilities
The dialectic between "Art" and "Construction", a fundamental in SPEXA's philosophy, implies a synthesis of invention, thoroughness and prospective thinking and construction. Our persistence in quality matched with extensive know-how and years of experience form the basis for achieving the best, functional, cost- effective and appealing outcome for our projects.

George Nikoulis started in 1975 his academic career in School of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He had been teaching for more than 35 years -until his retirement- the scientific fields of Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Applied Arts (with emphasis on Industrial Design), and Materials and Technological Applications in Architecture.

Alongside his university teaching, George has always been passionate about designing and building real projects in real life.
Hence his active presence as architect engineer and entrepreneur since 1978, when he founded METEKA Ltd. to design and construct apartment buildings, residential complexes and private houses.
In 1984 he founded ARTECO SA to expand in the tourism and hospitality sector, which was then in its infancy in Greece. And indeed, it's impact on built environment quality, as well as the relevant discourse about aesthetics, use of materials and functionality, is noticeable.
Many were his students that worked next to him throughout the years, and ARGroup was formed in 1992, as George strongly believed in collaboration.

Lydia Nikouli graduated German High School of Thessaloniki in 1998, and School of Architecture of Aristotle University in 2006.
Well read and deeply concerned about human repercussions on nature, continued with Environmental Management Master Studies in Aegean University.
Her decennial occupation with designing hotels lead her to study again for a Master's degree, this time Tourism Management in University of Macedonia.
